Job title: Veterinary Nurse Contract: Permanent, full time Location: Grimsby animal hospital Salary: £23,806 - £26,000 per annum Closing date: 19th May 2023 Interview dates: 5th & 6th June 2023 Blue Cross are one of the UK s leading animal welfare organisations for animals. We support sick, injured and homeless pets and care for more than 40,000 animals every year through our rehoming, veterinary and education programmes. What is the role? Blue Cross hospitals provide veterinary treatment for animals belonging to those people whose financial circumstances do not allow them to afford private veterinary fees. We are looking for a registered Veterinary Nurse who can build rapport with clients during nurse clinics, monitor and assist routine and emergency surgeries and have a great opportunity to use and develop your nursing skills in our four separate inpatient wards including a dedicated isolation ward. We welcome all nurses of varying skill sets and experience. Nurses rotate throughout the different areas of the hospital and benefit from continuity of cases, real nursing and emergency cases as well as routine. Working hours are 42 hours per week over 5 days based on an 8.5 hour day which include a one hour paid lunch break daily and additional paid breaks. Weekends, public holidays and out of hours are worked on a rota. About you The person will be an excellent communicator with a caring attitude and the ability to work well alone and as part of a team including supporting our volunteers. You will be hard working, efficient, reliable, and work in a way which reflects our values and culture. As a Veterinary Nurse, you will provide great customer service and an experience inductive of maximising donations and a positive reputation. You will have Fully qualified Veterinary Nurse Registered with RCVS Confident in all aspects of veterinary nursing Demonstratable customer service skills Ability to demonstrate, understanding and apply our Blue Cross values.
