Job Description

We are recruiting a SHE Team Leader, Functional for our client in Aberdeen city centre.

This role carries the responsibility for co-ordinating the delivery of underpinning Safety, Health and Environmental expertise to ensure effective management systems are in place, supporting the management and reduction of risk in major accident hazards, occupational health and safety and environmental impacts.

This role specifically incorporates responsibility for data management and reporting, onshore emergency response, audit and monitoring, engagement with workforce and 3rd parties, supporting decommissioning, developments, subsea and marine, and delivery of environmental expertise.

Duties & Responsibilities to include:

Leadership:

  • Lead, inspire and motivate the Functional SHE Team to pursue excellence in all they do.
  • Create a positive work environment, and develop a continuous improvement mind-set within the Team.
  • Mentor and coach team members in their personal development.
SHE:
  • Oversee timely delivery of accurate SHE data and reporting to meet divisional, corporate and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure delivery of effective environmental expertise to support all aspects of companies operations.
  • Ensure expertise in place to provide Industrial Hygiene and Occupational Health support across all activities.
  • Support the delivery of effective management system maintenance to ensure it remains effective and meets company and external requirements (e.g. ISO14001).
  • Deliver effective audit and assurance processes to ensure management system compliance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement in SHE performance.
  • Ensure effective SHE support to Marine, Subsea, Drilling, Development and Decommissioning activities.
  • Ensure effective engagement on SHE matters with 3rd parties and with the workforce.
  • Champion a culture of Process Safety Excellence in the Company.
  • Ensure every opportunity for learning (from audits, incident investigation, lessons learned, etc.) is used in the drive for continuous improvement in Process Safety Management.
  • Ensure effective delivery of onshore emergency response, and work with Leadership to ensure this remains fit-for-purpose.
  • Work together with all departments to ensure effective SHE input to contract management, vendor evaluation and audit.
  • Ensure legislative requirements understood, assessed, communicated, and develop associated compliance measures where required.
