Senior / Project Quantity SurveyorBirminghamPermanent£50-60k (Negotiable depending on experience, skills & qualifications)Plus Car Allowance & Fully comprehensive Pension and Medical package

The ClientOur Client is one of the UK's leading providers of planned and responsive maintenance services in the Social Housing sector, maintaining more than 500,000 properties Nationwide every year. Due to newly acquired contracts, they are looking to recruit a Senior / Project Quantity Surveyor for their West Midlands project.

The RoleReporting to the Commercial Manager, you will take the Commercial lead and will be responsible for managing a Commercial team to deliver profitability, cost planning/control on a full refurbishment project of a tower block in Birmingham.

Duties & Responsibilities:To manage a commercial team to deliver the commercial objectives of the business.To develop strong customer relationships with key clients and Consultants.To take overall responsibility and accountability for the commercial elements on a project.To assist the Commercial Manager with pre-start planning and programmingTo manage the day-to-day cost control, monitoring and reportingPreparing tender and contract documentsAssisting in establishing a client's requirements and undertaking feasibility studiesPerforming risk and value management and cost controlIdentifying, analysing and developing responses to commercial risksAllocating work to subcontractorsProviding advice on contractual claimsAnalysing outcomes and writing detailed progress reportsValuing completed work and arranging paymentsScrutinising and monitoring costs to ensure best value and price to maximise profitabilityVisiting site to discuss buying and material related issuesNegotiate with external suppliers to formulate rebate and annual agreementsSecure fixed price agreements for materialsProfit and delivery maximisation and efficiencyAttend project and company related meetingsMentor and coach Junior/Trainee QS's

Qualifications & Experience:HND/HNC in Surveying/Building Studies or equivalentMinimum of 5 years' experience at Senior QS levelMust have experience of working on Social Housing Refurbishment or Planned Maintenance contracts.
