A unique and exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Projects Department at this award-winning Airport.Newcastle International Airport currently has a turnover of circa £70m and is committed to growing the business, whilst further improving passenger experience and driving towards its Net Zero 2035 sustainability targets.The RoleReporting to the Senior Project Manager as part of the Projects Department, you will work with a wide range of mainly internal stakeholders managing a variety of capital projects whilst helping ensure these are delivered within budget. This will include processing valuations, variations and settling final accounts.Main responsibilities will include: Both leading and lending support to a wide range of internal projects covering both refurbishment and new build. Preparation and management of cost estimates for inclusion in capex business planning, helping ensure all works are delivered within budget and on time. Management of procurement processes including appointment of external advisers. Assistance on delivery of third-party projects whilst acting as Landlord's Agents. Ensuring compliance with relevant H & S regulations at all times. The role is integral to both the team and wider business, so is site based, with home working only being available as a rare exception.Potential candidates are likely to hold a relevant degree and be RICS qualified although this is not essential, and be broadly experienced in both project and cost management.Prior airport sector experience is not required, but you will need to be self-starting, and able to handle multiple priorities in a complex operating environment with multiple stakeholders. Strong communication skills and an ability to influence those stakeholders is taken as given.Experience of public sector procurement processes would be advantageous, but again not essential.Prospects are very good for the successful candidate.
