Quantity Surveyor - Competitive Salary- Brompton on Swale, North Yorkshire

The Role

Do you possess HNC in Surveying or Construction? Do you possess a great eye for detail and the ability to think analytically? If so, we are looking for you.

Due to the company's growth and recently appointed framework agreements, IPS Group has an exciting opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to manage new building single ply roofing / cladding and cladding remediation projects across multiple counties. This will be an integrated commercial role with both quantity surveying and project management consultants, with opportunities for advancement within the company.

The main purpose of this role will assist the Commercial and Project department with cost management for assigned developments from consultants to contractors.

Key Responsibilities:

The key responsibilities of a Quantity Surveyor include, but are not limited to:

• Provide general assistance to the Commercial and Project management department when required.
• Assist with the compiling of tender lists for contractors and liasing with consultants.
• Receive tender reports and assist with the analysis comparing overall good value to the business.
• Assist with the issuing of consultant and contractor orders in accordance with Group Policy and Commercial Best Practice to budget and within programme requirements, including attend pre-contract and post contract meetings.
• Diligently use the systems and processes to manage site project administration, including orders, variations, valuations, etc.
• Assist with collation of data to maintain database information.
• Maintain open lines of communication with colleagues in other departments.
• Diligently use the IPS IMS and Monday's system to manage site project administration, including orders, variations, valuations, etc. (Training will be provided)

The Person

The key skills and qualities of a Quantity Surveyor are:

• HNC in Surveying or Construction.
• Experience of working within the Construction industry for a residential housing developer, specifically on new build developments.
• Excellent IT, analytical and communication skills.
• Strong mathematical ability.
• Ability to assess and analyse information.
• Good understanding of budget management.
• Negotiating and networking skills.
• Good team working skills.
• Accurate with an eye for detail.
