We have a new and exciting opportunity within our Change & Delivery function and are on the lookout for a PMO Lead to help deliver our innovative portfolio of Change within Core Solutions.

As a PMO Lead you'll be proactively working as part of the Programme Management Office (PMO) who maintain and champion the Programme and Project Management governance framework across Change delivery.

Working with the Core Solutions team, you will lead a team of PMO Analysts and as a credible and inspiring leader you will ensure the PMO add value through assuring effective and consistent milestone reporting, management of finances, risks, issues and dependencies and operational management of the department.

You will be required to work in collaboration with central PMO team to warrant the coherence of the Project Portfolio and together develop and maintain the appropriate environment to support each individual Project within it.

What will it take?

We're looking for an expert in what they do. Someone with demonstrable experience in leading colleagues and change delivery with understanding of the principles and frameworks from a user and support perspective. Problem solving and decision-making skills are key as well as being a strong team player with a natural flair for building relationships across the business. To be successful for this role you will be proactive in your approach and be able to report and challenge overall programme progress, clearly articulating and/or escalating risks and issues ensuring the appropriate actions are taken and sufficient levels of control are in place. We'll ask you to support the Portfolio Managers in preparing reports and presentations so knowledge of MS Office is essential. You will support the day to day management of the department to ensure smooth running of resourcing and capacity planning, governance meetings and operational controls.

We'd love to hear from you if you have

  • Proven experience of Business Change and Governance
  • Leadership experience as someone who can genuinely develop, motivate and lead colleagues
  • PMO and/or Projects delivery experience
  • Understanding of the principles and frameworks of successful project management from a user and support perspective
  • Proven experience in providing service to internal stakeholders to achieve successful project outcome
  • Demonstrated capability for problem solving, decision making, sound judgment, assertiveness
  • Experience in the production assurance of quality reports/packs/presentations

There are a few essentials you need to bring:

  • PMO / Project Delivery Experience
  • Banking / Digital / Financial Services experience
  • Proven experience of Business Change & Governance (including RAID management)
  • Demonstrable experience in leading colleagues
  • Strong understanding of governance principles and project management frameworks
  • Problem solving and decision making skills
  • Knowledge of financial controls
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and relationship building qualities
  • Adaptability in a fast-paced change environment
  • Confidence in constructively challenging at all levels
  • Experience in producing high quality reporting and assurance packs/presentations
  • Familiar with MS Office (intermediate to advanced level)

The icing on the cake would be:

  • Ability to genuinely lead and develop colleagues
  • Strong knowledge and experience of Agile Methodology
  • PPM tooling knowledge / experience (Oracle, Planview, MS Project, etc)
  • Experience in establishing PMOs
