We now have an exciting opportunity for a People Administrator to join our High Street People team at our Support Centre in Swindon for a one year Fixed Term Contract.
The main purpose of a People Administrator is to assist in the support of our 12,000+ employees across the business, providing support where needed on a variety of administrative tasks relating to starters and leavers, performance, employee wellbeing, benefits and payroll. Our People Team is right at the heart of WHSmith.
What you will be doing
Assisting with all aspects of People Administration including the issuing of internal appointment letters & contracts, tracking of secondments, new colleagues probationary & induction management
Working in conjunction with the Payroll team in Swindon ensuring accuracy of payroll
Supporting the management and compliance of People practices e.g. absence management, probationary periods, leavers, maternity leave etc
Ensuring People data is maintained accurately, and updates are obtained when required, to ensure compliance with current legislation
Supporting the High Street People team with key processes such as weekly People updates, compiling monthly People data packs, annual salary review and bonus activities
What we are looking for
You will have excellent planning and organisational skills, as well as the ability to manage a varied and busy workload
A confident communicator with the ability to build strong working relationships across the business
You will have the ability to handle sensitive information in a professional and confident manner
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and meet tight deadlines
You will be a competent user of the MS Office suite, with intermediate Excel skills
