JB169: Mechanical Vehicle FitterLocation: KetteringSalary: £12.62 per hourOverview:First Military Recruitment are currently seeking an Mechanical Vehicle Fitter on behalf of one of our clients.Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel however all candidates will be given due consideration.Duties and Responsibilities for the Mechanical Vehicle Fitter:

• To assemble and install mechanical and hydraulic fitting assemblies and components to on chassis cab/Unimog type vehicles or pickup vehicles and 3.5T-14.0T commercial vans / Unimog vehicles.
• To undergo training to carry out vehicles' preparation and fitting of lift assembly, PTOs, mainframes and other associated mechanical assemblies, hydraulic kits and ancillary components to donor vehicle.
• To undergo training to carry out function checks upon completion of installation, fault diagnosis/problem solving if required.
• To undergo training to requisition parts and equipment as necessary.
• To undergo training to keep own vehicle and surrounding work area clean and tidy meeting Health and Safety standards.
• To undergo training to complete all relevant documentation including check lists, inspection/test sheets and applying signatures as appropriate.
• To undergo product and process training as required.
• To undergo training to carry out work within realistic time/target hours to agreed schedules of work.
• To undergo training to record all times and attendance hours to facilitate payment.
• 1To undergo training to adhere to existing work practices, methods, procedures, undertake relevant training and development activities and to respond positively to new and alternative systems.
• To undergo training to co-operate with the company in complying with relevant Health and Safety legislation, policy, and procedure in the performance of the position.
• To undergo training to understand and comply with the companies Environmental policy
• To carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities within the overall function as required by the company

Skills and Qualifications for the Mechanical Vehicle Fitter:

• Ideally qualified to NVQ level 2 in Plant maintenance / hydraulics.
• Experienced in working with heavy machinery.
• Experienced in using air/electric power tools, e.g. drills, grinders, jigsaw, rivet guns, nutserts etc.
• Have the skills/ability to carry out mechanical assembly processes, e.g. bolls, washers, nuts, riveting, torque settings.
• Ideally have experience of basic hydraulic systems principles/installations, e.g. reading schematics, symbols, fittings and cleanliness.
• Develop skills/ability to read drawings/documents given and completion of relevant process paperwork.cFollowing training, to have the ability to complete operations in standard time.
