Job Description

Continuous Improvement & Process Engineer required for my client, a global leading developer and manufacturer of products for the life science, biotech and pharma markets. As Continuous Improvement & Process Engineer you will be responsible for the project management and implementation of Automation / Process Engineering projects. You will also be responsible for delivering regular recommendations on how to improve efficiency levels and lower costs by improving processes, while meeting quality standards.

As Continuous Improvement & Process Engineer you will be responsible for:

• Programme management and control of equipment updates and automation implementation in support of new and improved production processes
• Identification of potential process improvements, scoping and business case development followed by supplier control and subsequent introduction of the relevant solution/s
• In conjunction with Operational Excellence understand workflows within and across all departments to determine and allow for appropriate assessment of automation opportunities across the entirety of Operations
• Working closely with the operational leads to develop and drive a 3-year rolling plan to deliver productivity for each production area
• Establishing the optimal operational process flow for targeted production areas through use of relevant lean and six sigma tools
• Control of appropriate project definitions and scope in alignment with the stakeholder requirements through an appropriate URS and other supporting project documentation
• Creating the business case and return on investment for appropriate equipment, including the compilation of all documents relating to Capex submissions
• Creation, maintenance and communication of the assigned project to both internal and external stakeholders including suppliers and clients as required
• Project reporting using standard reporting mechanisms to include project status summaries, KPI/metric monitoring along with any formal project reports and presentation
• Creation and maintenance of project documentation and design history files.
• Developing the annual goals for process engineering and automation, ensuring alignment to strategy and operational goals, ensuring cascade and feedback to appropriate stakeholders

Skills and Qualifications of the Continuous Improvement & Process Engineer:

• Experience in a biotech, life science, pharmacutical, medical device, FMCG or similar type industry
• Experience in world class leading operations
• Experience in process automation and process engineering in the medical device, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, Life Science, FMCG or similar type industry
• Knowledge of automation within appropriate business sector
• Experience of applying Lean and/or Six Sigma techniques
• Track record of successful completion of complex technical projects on time and to budget
• Significant planning, resourcing and project budgeting experience
• Evidence of excellent communication skills at executive / senior management level
• Ability to identify and drive improvement opportunities 1.
• Work autonomously and manage deadlines and pressure situations
