Description

Prepare samples ready for analysis and organise daily workload
Perform routine quality control analysis accurately and efficiently
Record raw data and final results concisely and neatly in appropriate laboratory
Maintain laboratory equipment to a necessary operational standard and calibration
Maintaining all working areas, equipment and ensuring correct PPE
Ensure that samples are stored properly and labelled with correct information
To ensure that all control charts and maintenance documents are kept up to date
Input results in a timely manner to ensure a smooth flow of information

Profile

Highers or HNC in Science subjects
Be numerate and have a basic understanding of mathematics and/or chemistry
Be able to work as part of a team
Must have good inter-personal skills, be self-motivating, enthusiastic and flexible
Operate laboratory instrumentation which involves calibration, maintenance and essential problem solving skills
Able to participate in on-going training in new methods and quality control procedures

Job Offer

This is a part time position, working Thursday & Friday with alternate Monday's - 9am-5pm

Salary is £11,000-£13,000 (prorated).
