Job Description

Carrying out accurate and efficient routine quality control analysis of samples submitted to the lab.

Description

  • Prepare samples ready for analysis and organise daily workload
  • Perform routine quality control analysis accurately and efficiently
  • Record raw data and final results concisely and neatly in appropriate laboratory
  • Maintain laboratory equipment to a necessary operational standard and calibration
  • Maintaining all working areas, equipment and ensuring correct PPE
  • Ensure that samples are stored properly and labelled with correct information
  • To ensure that all control charts and maintenance documents are kept up to date
  • Input results in a timely manner to ensure a smooth flow of information

Profile

  • Highers or HNC in Science subjects
  • Be numerate and have a basic understanding of mathematics and/or chemistry
  • Be able to work as part of a team
  • Must have good inter-personal skills, be self-motivating, enthusiastic and flexible
  • Operate laboratory instrumentation which involves calibration, maintenance and essential problem solving skills
  • Able to participate in on-going training in new methods and quality control procedures

Job Offer

This is a part time position, working Thursday & Friday with alternate Monday's - 9am-5pm

Salary is £11,000-£13,000 (prorated).
