Job Description

I'm supporting a large NHS organisation in London who require Estates and Facilities Contracts Managers.

The role comes with an annual salary of £40,448 - £47,965 depending on experience, including the NHS benefits, i.e. NHS Pension Scheme.

The post holder will be an integral part of the facilities management team and assist the Head of Facilities Management Contracts in the management of the organisation's group contracts and other contracts in scope.

Work closely with key stakeholders to develop and manage the estates and facilities contracts in accordance with the terms and conditions of the framework and contract itself, and ensure the services are safe, high-quality and patient-focused.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Management of the day-to-day commercial services contracts across all sites;
  • Oversee the day-to-day commercial contracts across all sites;
  • Key point of contact for all commercial related queries and issues, being accessible to service users (staff and patients) and contractors across several sites and responsible for resolving any service issues at a senior level;
  • Utilise effective contract management processes ;
  • Implement the agreed contract arrangements and performance frameworks in liaison with commissioners;
  • Ensure service specifications incorporate best practice, national and regional requirements;
  • While the role does not have direct line management responsibilities, the post holder is required to participate in regular team meetings and 1:1 meetings with colleagues;
  • Set up and use systems for the agreement and monitoring of contracts with providers across all healthcare activities of the commissioners;
  • Utilise appropriate software to allow contract and financial monitoring and reporting using advanced skills in a variety of computer packages.
The ideal candidate will have:
  • Educated to degree level in relevant field or equivalent experience;
  • Membership of or working towards relevant Chartered Institute e.g. CIPS, BIFM, CIOB, RICS;
  • Experience of Estates and/or Facilities Management;
  • At least 2 years relevant specialist experience of NHS or local authority service agreements/ contracting processes; or managing services in the NHS sufficient to have gained a thorough knowledge of these aspects of NHS management activities;
  • Ability to deal with complaints and incidents in a timely and appropriate manner.
