Area Sales Manager Civil & Construction
The Company
Our client has grown to be one of the UK's largest suppliers of heavy side construction products such into the Civil, Groundwork and Construction contractors is looking to develop its added valve services to their customers. This growth has seen the company turnover increase and their ability to service clients far beyond their expectations. With continued support for training with a guarantee that personal development will be encouraged and promoted our client is now looking to expand their operations in the South East England, Hampshire area (M3 & M27) to support the National Sales teams.
The Role
This is a fundamental role in the company's business strategy and requires an individual of a sales background selling to the Main Contractors in both the construction and Civil Engineering sectors. The role is a senior role within the existing sales team looking for opportunities for additional sales revenue and senior level contract supply, the role will also look to support the sales team and to look for added value solutions to their customers. Supporting the existing team whilst developing high end business relationships with customers, looking at total solutions over product supply. Applicants will work alongside the external sales team but provide a technically strong overview of the company's services and look to add benefit to their relationship with the customer. This will include the promotion of our client's basic product range and bespoke product solutions and ancillary products into the larger main and specialist subcontractors, civil engineering and ground-works companies. You will work in the field environment developing the company's ongoing business strategy and control of their already large market share.
The Candidate
Suitable applicants must be able to show strong technical experience of selling construction products, Cement, steel, anchors, fixings or fasteners to the main contractors who would include Tunnelling, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Foundation and Pilling within the Civil and Construction sector. Sales experience is essential as product training can be given but a strong commercial acumen with a good technical knowledge would be of equal interest in this role. Basic understanding of reading CAD drawings, costing, large civil and construction projects and an underlying knowledge of heavy side building product supply would be ideal. Candidates presently in a Commercial construction management role or an established technically biased field based construction sales role would be ideal as product training will be given, applicants who presently work within a Builders Merchant, Aggregates, Cement, Concrete, structural, heavy side, cement, steel, pilling, tunnelling or foundation role be of great interest.
The successful applicant will be a dynamic addition that will demonstrate an active business awareness of the potential and importance of this role.
Basic Salary £32-36K + OTE + Full company benefits and company car, mobile, laptop, holidays, pension etc.
