Job Description

My clients are hoping to transform an exceptional individual's life by offering them an exciting opportunity to join the team as an accounts and audit senior. The successful candidate will be either AAT qualified or studying towards their AAT or qualified by experience.

This opportunity will offer you experience in all areas of accounts, audit and cloud accounting.

As you grow in confidence and knowledge, this client will develop and equip you with interpersonal skills, so you become a great communicator and business advisor.

This role requires you to provide a high standard of service to clients, drafting business accounts and ensuring that all statutory requirements, including deadlines, are met. This will require effective communication and acting on guidelines issued from HMRC and other agencies on behalf of clients.

Responsibilites include:

  • Providing support to managers on audit assignments (on site and in office)
  • To draft financial statements for client businesses for review.
  • To draft tax computations and tax returns for client businesses and individuals for review.
  • On site audit testing Supervising junior members of audit team
  • Audit file finalisation
  • Liaising with managers
  • Additional Responsibilities may include any of the following:
  • Drafting and completion of VAT registration applications and returns. Drafting cashflows and forecasts.
  • Drafting Accountant's references for mortgage/loan applications and insurance.
  • Drafting reconstituted accounts for clients to present to potential purchasers of their businesses.
  • Advising clients on bookkeeping methods and improvements to existing methods.

Attending SWAT courses and other external and internal training/update courses which are relevant to your clients e.g. Charities, Solicitors. Drafting and filing various statutory forms on behalf of client businesses. Drafting management accounts for clients

Knowledge and Experience

Ideally, AAT qualified with minimum of 2 years PQE or qualified by experience Audit experience, Xero certification and a high level of knowledge. Experience in dealing with clients in person, IT skills; with working knowledge of Windows applications, Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, Experience of preparing VAT returns, management and statutory accounts, Ability to work efficiently in a busy team and meet deadlines.
